Then there's the $30M advanced semiconductor fab expansion in Pennsylvania catching policy attention — and Pelosi Stock Tracker and other Capitol Hill bellwethers have been flagging the name repeatedly, sparking a chase. Also in June, Nokia joined a Nordic consortium developing next-gen counter-drone critical connectivity infrastructure — doubling down on its position in high-moat, high-margin government and defense comms markets. 1. Explosive AI & Cloud orders (3x book-to-bill) Training and running AI large models requires thousands of compute nodes moving massive amounts of data at ultra-low latency. Nokia's IP Networks and Optical Networks divisions are the absolute foundational layer supplying data center interconnect (DCI) and DWDM optical systems. The hard numbers: Latest quarter showed AI and cloud revenue up a blistering 49% YoY. The metric that matters: Book-to-bill ratio for this segment hit a staggering 3x — for every euro of revenue recognized, three euros of new orders come in. Demand is absolutely outstripping current delivery capacity. 2. Legacy 5G cycle troughing, optical guidance raised After several years of telecom capex decline, the legacy carrier business is bottoming and stabilizing.
