Am I the only one who finds the wording “Today’s lineup” a little strange? It basically means “this is how things are right now”… But why would it ever be different if you’ve decided to remove Valko? 👀 To me, using “Today’s lineup” implies that the lineup could change. Otherwise, wouldn’t they use something more definitive? Ever since I saw that sign, I can’t stop thinking about how strange the wording feels in this context. Я прекрасно понимаю и осознаю, что для возврата Валко Infold должен что-то сделать со своей репутацией в Китае, так как она сейчас болтается где то на дне. Вся эта история со скандалом еще продолжает гулять на просторах Вейбо, но она затихает и это заметно. Infold на самом деле стали в этой ситуации жертвами кибертравли, и даже не важно кто в этом оказался виноват (CDG, другие фандомы игр или их конкуренты). Но. Я постоянно сижу на Вейбо и rednote, и читаю все посты по lads, которые мне попадаются. И нахожу много постов от людей, которые изначально были очень недовольны Infold и жаловались, но персонажа удалять они не просили. Их жалобы были вполне логичные, такие же жалобы есть и у глобальных игроков, но они не идиоты и понимают, что Infold трусливо пожертвовала Валко, словно козлом отпущения. Но вот проблемы это не решило, а лишь усугубило. Поэтому люди, которые требуют от компании ответов, имеют на это тоже право. Infold могли поступить по другому, но они этого не сделали, а совершили еще одну ошибку. Даже если компания сможет восстановить свою репутацию, у нас до сих пор есть заявление от 30 июня, где сказано, что персонажа отменяют и весь его контент больше разрабатывать не будут (хоть оно и противоречит заявлению от 28 июня). Если Валко будет восстановлен, мы все получим еще одну волну скандала от антисов и CDG, которые будут тыкать в это заявление с пеной у рта (что они с самого начала и делают). Controversy Visibility and Public Reception: Journalist Catnip Before you take a moment to read this, I kindly ask you go back and read the two prior articles as they provide substantial background with the following commentary piece. Here is the first one, Gamescom Theory, with an important distinction that there is a part 2 in the comments that gets overlooked. x.com/seralorneautho… First and foremost, when I wrote those prior pieces days ago, it had never entered my mind that visibility for the pro-Valko movement would take the leap of 25 Billboards in the Cologne Airport. (ValkoArmyHQ, 8/24/26 on X) (LettersforValko, 8/24/26 on X) Hats off again to the coordination, time and dedication put into that project from across the world. Beyond impressive. Journalistic Catnip, I said? Yes. Riveting journalism uses a solid hook to grab readers attention. Click-bait in our more modern times. We have seen it in the current climate of the barkcott, and even in day to day local stories. Negative storylines, by far, tend to grab a reader's attention. There are studies from the BBC and PubMed that even focus on how negativity drives online news consumption. Negative articles tend to cause a few psychological reactions, like urgency and threat among other things. There are multiple articles covering this in my last piece, Reputational Risk and Climate Assessment, x.com/seralorneautho… Coverage on this topic has already been shifting steadily in Global spaces, increasingly scrutinizing Infold’s decisions and actually highlighting the movement’s arguments. So the bigger question becomes how does a movement like #BringValkoBack gets into headlines and makes the pressure expand laterally, focusing on Infold’s decisions while holding the narrative high above the company’s head? Visibility. And crucially, LetterstoValko and ValkoArmyHQ have made the visibility of the movement do something very, very different. They are NOT focusing directly on Infold. They are setting up for something that can be conveyed to a journalist within a few lines. Let’s set up a small hypothetical for an example. A big name gaming media company arrives in Cologne. They see the first billboard as they are leaving their terminal. Might dismiss the first one. The second one? The third? Suddenly, the vivid imagery stops them. Then they might wonder, “Who is this character and why do they want him back?” The next day they attend Gamescom to cover various things in their docket, and they come across a group of Valko supporters. The imagery is so similar and distinct they connect it immediately. “Oh, that guy is really popular right? When was he released?” “He wasn’t. They cancelled him.” “....what?” “Yeah, we are fighting to get him back.” “Oh? And what did the company say?” “They haven’t said anything at all since they cancelled him.” THAT. That is a clear, wonderful, concise hook for journalists. Again, by hitting their revenue, we're pushing them into a corner where there is no other choice for them but to bring Valko back. And we're already doing good by making them suffer because of their stupidity. Now, If Valko is not reinstated by September, what then? Boycott continues. But I need you to assess yourself if you're willing to see it through the end: either them reinstating Valko back or your end, finally stepping back from this. No. Really, ask yourself.
