When sex is treated not as an act of lifelong love that can bring sacred new life into the world, but as self centered and trivial momentary pleasure, we create a culture that demands abortion.
@LilaGraceRose I have yet to see any single take on abortion that concisely touches on all of the reasons it exists. This take is one of many: valid for some, while completely missing the mark for others. The sooner we get honest about how complicated the issue can be, the better.
@firesideint @LilaGraceRose Fact: every single *successful* abortion procedure results in the termination of an innocent life. This is where the conversation should start, and then you can make your claims on what you think consider valid / missing the mark. But don’t brush aside the most impactful part.
@firesideint @LilaGraceRose As a moral issue, it’s often defined by our idea of sentience (at what point is it developed?). Regardless of how old the foetus is, the process is rather traumatic for the majority of women. The complexity is precisely why it should never be uniformly banned by the state!
