NEWS: A Tesla's lifetime emissions fall below a comparable gas car after 38,500 miles, the company says That takes about 4 years of average driving. Electric vehicles emit more during manufacturing, mostly from battery production. Tesla's chart marks the point where cumulative EV emissions cross under the gas equivalent. Every mile after that widens the gap. Tesla says it wants to cut manufacturing emissions far enough that its cars avoid emissions from the first mile driven. Tesla says after 200,000 miles, Model 3/Y batteries are designed to retain 80% of its original battery capacity. "We have been selling EVs for over a decade and have a reliable dataset that shows battery degradation over time. We estimate that a vehicle reaches the end of its life after about 200,000 miles of driving in the U.S. and about 150,000 miles in Europe. Even after 200,000 miles, the batteries in Model 3 and Model Y lose only about 20% of their capacity, regardless of their battery chemistry. For the average U.S. driver, 200,000 miles takes about 15 years to drive, which means that even after a Tesla vehicle reaches its estimated end of life, its battery still has 80% of its original capacity." I can attest, this is accurate. I’ve seen a Model 3 with 310,000+ miles still retain about 70% capacity.

SpaceX has officially requested FCC approval to launch and operate a third-generation satellite constellation of 100,000 satellites, designed to power human connectivity and AI-fueled progress. To achieve this ambitious goal, the Gen3 system will put new spectrum and sharing frameworks to work for American consumers. Al requires massive uplink capacity to support high-definition." The Gen3 system will consist of 100,000 satellites, configured in two bands of thin, closely stacked operational shells with nominal altitudes between 323 and 327.5 kilometers and 473 and 477.5 kilometers. SpaceX seeks flexibility to operate its Gen3 system with inclinations ranging from 26 degrees to 96.9 degrees (sun-synchronous orbit) to optimize coverage consistent with evolving demand. This new filing is separate from SpaceX's previous application to operate a constellation of up to 1 million AI satellites. They are two distinct constellations.

Tesla on Cybercab in new report: "We plan to deploy Cybercab as the primary vehicle in our Robotaxi fleet. It eliminates the need for a steering wheel, pedals and traditional controls, freeing up cabin space and ultimately reducing weight and operational costs. It is designed as al compact two-seater because more than 85% of ride-hailing trips carry one to two passengers, * while other autonomous Tesla vehicles serve larger groups. Cybercab incorporates numerous in-house advancements including our 4680 battery cells, steer-by-wire technology and 48-volt architecture, with the latter enabling the delivery of power to different parts of the vehicle more efficiently. It also leverages our "unboxed" manufacturing process that builds the vehicle in parallel (instead of using traditional sequential manufacturing lines),| leading to a more efficient use of the factory space. Furthermore, Cybercab is manufactured from lightweight reactive injection molded (RIM) panels that eliminate the need for a traditional paint shop.
