Again, yesterday the now regular news came that the National Grid had collapsed once again. Just a few days ago, on the 25th of October, South Africa that was the second-largest economy in Africa behind Nigeria until recently, with a quarter of our population, celebrated seven months of uninterrupted power supply. South Africa generates and distributes about 40,000 MW of electricity, while Nigeria struggles to generate and distribute just 10% of that. Yet, despite this stark disparity, Nigerians continue to endure daily power outages. And when I ask the question: is there any tribe in Nigeria that enjoys uninterrupted power supply like South Africa? I am labelled a tribal bigot. When I ask if any religion enjoys special privileges in this crisis, I am called a religious bigot. But I will continue to speak the truth about our situation today. The fact remains that we are all suffering equally from this failure. The solution lies not in tribal or religious affiliations but in visionary leadership and a shared commitment to progress. We must set aside these primordial sentiments and elect leaders who are competent, capable, and have the vision to transform our nation from a consumer-driven economy to a productive one by investing our meager resources in critical areas of development like health and education, lifting our people out of poverty, and ensuring increased electricity production and distribution. In pursuit of my desires and soul-searching for solutions for our country’s and continental challenges, I was in Kigali, Rwanda , over the weekend. I had several meetings, planned and some sudden with notable people in the development sector, and discussed a range of issues, especially from personal to sports and food insecurity. Most of the comments, I had resonated well with belief for example, whenever I talk about productivity, I maintain that our productivity is low and my emphasis remains on our country moving from consumption to production. The Former Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Hailemariam Desalegn @HMDessalegn shared that in their dealings with the Chinese, they found that the Chinese produce 6-7 times what the Ethiopians can produce, and they decided to do something about it. Today, he recounted: "I can comfortably say that the average Ethiopian produces 60-70% of what the Chinese can do." At the height of my meetings, and engagements was a gracious opportunity to meet with the legendary Rwanda President @PaulKagame, with whom I had very useful discussions on things that resonate with me every day, especially what is required for Africa to move forward. He remains committed to the management of scarce resources and serving the people faithfully, which resonates with me deeply. Finally, I spoke at the Sherrie Silver Foundation's "The Silver Gala". While looking around the hall, I saw a continent on the rise if only we could have the right Leadership and invest in the entrepreneurial, innovative energy of our youths. Overall, my experience in Kigali have reinforced my belief that the new Nigeria is possible and that Africa, the continent, is on the rise and unstoppable. -PO

I just had a conversation with a man who was kidnapped with his wife in june, he managed to escape but his wife wasn’t lucky enough. She was released a month later after a heavy ransom was paid and since that time till today his wife hasn’t said a word to anyone, she doesn’t even eat, she just stares into oblivion and has to be heavily sedated before she can sleep. He’s now planning to fly her abroad for treatment and to change her environment. I support death sentence for kidnappers and whatever instant judgment is meted out on them by the people when they’re caught, i support it fully.

Probably we should start suing Nigerian politicians abroad and seizing all their properties.
