@UOrangemen Hello I'm a hooper located in South Sudan with 6'9
@UOrangemen another option. Some schools have JV teams. Non scholarship. In my JV program our goal is improvement and exposure. It not treated any different than every other college team. We had a successful season this year and have several players moving on to D3 D2
@UOrangemen Remember the portal works for and against D1 and D2 schools. Kids transferring does open up potential roster opportunities for 2023 players. There’s also a handful of top 23s that haven’t committed yet or have de-committed. 2023s have a few more weeks to find their opportunity
@UOrangemen JUCO’s offer really late. But at that point you may also need to start considering yourself a walk-on. If you’re in the right state a JUCO walk-on keeps the cost down and you can play for great coaches that do get exposure.
@UOrangemen I’ve offered kids a JuCo opportunity & they’ve declined & end up w/o anything. Then 1-2 years later they’ll reach out when their particular skill set is no longer a fit with the current team. Looking for competitive/tough kids NOW. [email protected]
@UOrangemen We found homes for 2 of our guys after graduation. There’s always an opening somewhere. The question is: will the player be humble enough and willing to go anywhere in the country to play JUCO/D3/NAIA etc
@UOrangemen I’m figure that out right now is post grad the move or do I wait for a hopeful offer
@UOrangemen There may be a few D1 spots available from the April live period; but D2 and D3 will work Apr-July, because they dont typically do summer school for freshmen.
