Every time your body heals, every time your heart slows in prayer, every time peace shows up when it shouldn’t…that’s Him. Jesus rose on the third day. Science tells us that when you fast for 3 days, your body starts regenerating. Old cells die. New ones are born. Healing begins. Your body literally resurrects itself. That’s not coincidence. That’s design. And it keeps going. Your heart has an electrical rhythm. Your brain lights up when you pray. Tears contain different chemicals depending on if you're crying from joy or grief. The blood speaks. The bones store memory. The body worships whether you realize it or not. We are fearfully and wonderfully made. We are walking prophecy. Walking tabernacles. Dust and divinity in one. God didn’t just create you. He carved Himself into you. You don’t need to look far to find Him. You just need to look inward. He’s been in the design since the beginning.

Every civilization begins to die when its vocabulary begins to shrink. Language is where culture begins. Every forgotten word takes a piece of history, philosophy, beauty, and human experience with it. When people can no longer understand the language of Homer, Shakespeare, Dante, or Dostoevsky without constant translation, they slowly lose access to the ideas that shaped their civilization. That is why difficult books matter. They stretch the mind, expand our vocabulary, and connect us to generations that came before us. Read with a dictionary beside you. Learn the words. Teach them to your children. A civilization that loses its language soon forgets how to think, remember, and preserve what made it worth inheriting.

One of the simplest ways to corrupt a person is to subvert his perception of beauty. C.S. Lewis demonstrates this in That Hideous Strength, the final book of his Space Trilogy. Protagonist Mark Studdock is subjected to "training" by the sinister institute "N.I.C.E." to remove his emotional responses and his ability to recognize right from wrong. Mark is made to get used to a windowless room filled with nonsensical architecture and ugly art designed to disorient him. It is lit strangely and has unsettling proportions: too tall and narrow, a subtly wonky arched door, and dots on the ceiling positioned with such irregularity that it would be impossible to count them. On the walls are grotesque and creepy pictures, but just verging on normal. There is a hyper-real portrait of a young woman, but her mouth is filled with hair. One is a giant mantis playing a fiddle while being eaten by another mantis. Some are distortions of Bible scenes, like a painting of the Last Supper with hundreds of beetles under the table. This is Mark's first step toward "objectivity": "the process whereby all specifically human reactions were killed in a man so that he might become fit for the fastidious society of the Macrobes." Later, Mark is forced to do simple, deliberately pointless or mildly offensive acts repeatedly. The kinds of things most people would find stupid or rude. For Mark, they are meant to gradually erode his sense of anything being important. Our ability to recognize good from bad, virtue from vice, or beautiful from ugly is precisely what makes us human — our ability to make value judgments. When we spend too much time surrounded by ugliness, it has a dulling effect on this especially human part of us. Even worse is when we are forced to call these ugly things beautiful, or bad things good. If we are not careful, it will ruin our ability to properly recognize anything of value in our lives. Interestingly, Mark is ultimately won over against N.I.C.E. when he refuses to trample on a crucifix — not because he is a Christian (he isn't yet), but because it is inherently ugly and evil nonetheless. When someone intentionally creates ugly art, Lewis calls on us to call it out as such. The beauty we include in our lives is not neutral, nor is it trivial.

It was the middle of the night, at about 1.30am, when Norway lost to England. Yet thousands of Norwegians went to the Palace in Oslo and celebrated with one final Viking row. They did not riot. They did not burn cars. They did not smash bus stops or glass windows of shops. They smiled. The laughed. They saw the positive in their performance. They celebrated their heritage. They were proud of who they have been in the past and who they are today. Norway might be out of the World Cup 2026 but they are in our hearts. In the last three weeks, I think we have all fallen a little bit in love with Norwegians.

The film is based on a feminist reinterpretation of Homer’s epic, and alongside visibly ideological casting choices, this reveals something important about modern cultural politics. Roger Scruton argued that culture is never neutral. Great works of art and literature are not raw material to be endlessly deconstructed and reassembled according to contemporary political fashion. They are part of a civilisational inheritance that transmits meaning, memory, and a sense of belonging across generations. When foundational stories are deliberately altered to serve modern ideological purposes - whether through identity-based casting or the imposition of feminist frameworks that the original text does not support - the goal is often not artistic renewal but cultural subversion. This approach has clear intellectual roots. Antonio Gramsci understood that political power could be achieved by capturing the institutions of culture rather than through direct economic revolution. Later thinkers in the Frankfurt School tradition developed this into a systematic critique of Western civilisation itself, treating its canonical texts as instruments of oppression that must be exposed and rewritten. The result is a project in which art is judged primarily by its usefulness to political struggle rather than by its fidelity to truth, beauty or the work’s own internal logic. The Odyssey is not merely a story about one man’s journey home. It is a profound meditation on order, loyalty, courage and the restoration of rightful authority. When such works are repurposed to advance contemporary ideological goals, something important is lost. The public is no longer invited to encounter a great civilisation on its own terms but is instead instructed to view it through a present-day lens, which is most often about oppression and grievance. A culture that cannot defend the integrity of its foundational stories eventually loses the ability to defend anything else. And of course, that is exactly what the cultural Marxists want.

Just your periodic reminder that if you’re an American, you’re living inside the rarest political miracle in human history. Destroying it because you’ve never lived without it is like tearing down the lighthouse because you’ve never seen the rocks.
