Today is Day 995 of Israel's genocide of the Palestinians.
🚨 BREAKING: Israeli aircraft are heavily bombarding Deir al-Balah in central Gaza Strip right now.
Israel is still killing children in Gaza and it's no longer makes headlines.
Think about what it means to order the killing of your own soldiers in order to prevent them from becoming part of a prisoner exchange. It means that Israeli officials consider it a higher priority to keep detaining Palestinian men, women, and children without charge than to release some in exchange for those soldiers. That logic is so obviously inhumane that Israel officially ended the Hannibal Directive policy on paper, yet obviously kept it in practice, because we now have many different reports of it being implemented on October 7. And we also know that the bombing campaign was organized through 2023 and 2024 in a way that many Israeli officials understood to be highly likely to kill captives Israelis in Gaza, as +972 has exposed.

3 judges with the International Criminal Court filed a lawsuit in a US federal court against Trump and his administration, challenging the sanctions against them and calling it a "financial death penalty." The judges bringing the lawsuit are: - Kimberly Prost (Canada) - Solomy Balungi Bossa (Uganda) - Reine Adelaide Sophie Alapini-Gansou (Benin) Trump placed sanctions on the judges over their judicial decisions regarding investigations into war crimes by Israel and the US. The judges argue that the sanctions are extrajudicial measures meant to punish and coerce them. They say the restrictions cut them off from banking, online platforms, travel booking, and sometimes health insurance. This should be much bigger news.
It is powerful to see other arbitrarily sanctioned legal professionals acting against this outright persecution and full-on assault on int'l justice. I hope their ordeal will end sooner than mine. I am proud my family pioneered all this, even if the cost is extremely high.

It’s more than a little ironical that Genocide only became a crime (in International law) after the Second World War and the Holocaust that Jewish people suffered at the hands of the Nazis…..and now Israel, the Jewish state - is itself committing Genocide, on the Palestinian people. That last one is shocking where shock seems to be no longer possible. For how much longer will the West stand by and do nothing, Israel is a cancer in the Middle East - under its current leadership - it flouts all legal and moral conventions, a truly foul regime. We need sanctions now, as we had against South Africa as we have had against Iran and as we have against Russia - for far less in the way of crimes against humanity. We need to end the double standards. Israel must be stopped.
