It is impossible, because Erdogan has effectively committed a coup by eroding every institutional check and balance, ensuring he remains in power until death. This is not a democratic delay, it is a controlled suspension of democracy, disguised under constitutional amendments and legislative dominance. If Erdogan dies, the coup simply changes hands to his son, Bilal Erdogan, or to another internal loyalist within his power structure. The world must understand that this regime will not collapse from within unless the people rise en masse. However, this is extremely dangerous. Erdogan will not allow a popular uprising. He will use brutal force, not only against the Turkish people but potentially across the broader region. Erdogan's tight relations with the Police are critical to his survival. He has embedded over 500 individuals with Hamas ties into the Turkish police force. These are not merely sympathizers but strategic implants, loyal, ideologically motivated, and operational. These units will not hesitate to use deadly force to suppress dissent. At the same time, Erdogan maintains deeply fractured relations with the Turkish Armed Forces. After the failed coup attempt in 2016, he never trusted the military again. He purged thousands of officers, replaced command structures, and created a parallel security framework via police and foreign Islamist proxies. His trust lies solely in his external proxies: Hamas, HTS (Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham), factions of Al-Qaeda, and affiliated jihadist groups, most of which operate under the shadow diplomacy of Qatar and Iran. These proxies are both internal and external. Inside Turkey, they operate in sleeper-cell fashion within security services and ideological foundations. Externally, they serve as paramilitary extensions of Turkish intelligence in Syria, Libya, the Caucasus, and increasingly in sub-Saharan Africa. Turkey’s alliance with Hamas is no longer covert. Erdogan has publicly described Hamas as “mujaheddin” and “freedom fighters.” Over 1,000 Hamas members are reportedly receiving treatment in Turkish hospitals. High-level meetings have been held in Istanbul and Ankara, including repeated visits from Ismail Haniyeh and Khaled Mashal. Intelligence reports confirm Hamas is operating a command post from Turkish territory. This base is used to coordinate recruitment, propaganda, and tactical operations throughout the region. At the same time, Turkey’s influence operation stretches across the globe. In Africa, Turkey has increased its embassies from 12 to 44 in under two decades, constructed mosques, expanded trade to over $32 billion, and funneled influence via scholarships, military aid, and infrastructure deals. But the economic soft power masks something darker: the strategic deployment of Turkish-aligned mercenaries, such as Syrian fighters deployed through SADAT, a private paramilitary firm dubbed "the Turkish Wagner." SADAT’s involvement has been suspected in Libya, Niger, and even Chad. Its operatives are ideologically aligned, trained in asymmetrical warfare, and loyal not to the Turkish state, but to Erdogan’s personal doctrine of Islamic-nationalist expansionism. Erdogan’s covert coordination with HTS despite its terrorist designation in the West further proves his willingness to use any means necessary to destabilize adversaries. Under Turkey's informal protection, HTS has been allowed to regroup in northern Syria and parts of Idlib. Turkey uses these groups as leverage against both Russia and the Assad regime. The longer-term goal appears to be the formation of buffer zones controlled by Turkish proxies, effectively redrawing regional maps under Neo-Ottoman ideology. Domestically, Erdogan's grip is absolute. Independent media have been crushed, journalists imprisoned, judges replaced, and opposition parties are constantly harassed through politicized legal action. The constitutional referendum in 2017 turned Turkey from a parliamentary system into a hyper-centralized presidential one, giving Erdogan unchecked power over the judiciary, legislature, and military appointments. This is not a democracy, it is a one-man state. Speculation about Bilal Erdogan or other loyalists stepping in after Erdogan’s death is not fringe it is preparation for dynastic transition. Evidence continues to surface that Turkish-based accounts on X (formerly Twitter) are engaging in highly coordinated propaganda campaigns. These accounts often operate in Arabic, Turkish, and broken English, pushing the narrative of a pan-Islamic resistance against the West, glorifying Erdogan as a protector of Jerusalem, and targeting dissident voices across Europe and Latin America. The methodology used by these accounts is similar to Russian GRU influence operations: identity laundering, use of deepfake-enhanced videos, and emotional triggers to call for insurrection in foreign nations. Many of these accounts are managed via Turkish proxies using VPN obfuscation, some traced to facilities near Konya and Gaziantep. The geopolitical consequence of Erdogan’s current trajectory is a fragile region primed for rupture. The nexus of radical jihadism, state-sanctioned authoritarianism, and economic dependency in Africa and the Middle East puts the broader region at risk. European intelligence services have raised red flags about the recruitment of operatives for potential operations in France, Germany, and the Balkans. Erdogan’s network doesn’t just radicalize fighters, it radicalizes narratives. This analysis underscores the urgency for a coordinated international response to the evolving political and security challenges posed by Turkey under Erdogan's leadership. The country's strategic location, its role in NATO, and its expanding influence in destabilized regions all amplify the global implications of its internal policy direction. Erdogan's foreign policy centered around strategic autonomy has already ruptured alliances. The acquisition of Russian S-400 missile systems is a clear example of this pivot. Such decisions weaken NATO cohesion and present a systemic risk to collective defense protocols. At home, the militarized police, dismantling of judicial independence, and constant suppression of opposition parties make the idea of fair elections fictional. Human rights violations, religious fundamentalism interwoven into governance, and persecution of journalists are not isolated events, they are policy pillars. Intelligence suggests that, in the event of a real threat to power, Erdogan would activate loyalists embedded in civil infrastructure, using violence against both civilians and institutions. International stakeholders can no longer rely on traditional diplomatic channels or public pressure. Sanctions may apply pressure but are unlikely to change strategy. The only viable countermeasure now is intelligence coordination, black operations against high-risk proxies, psychological operations to fracture Erdogan’s propaganda, and the quiet but firm dismantling of his transnational support network. Civilian safety remains a primary concern, but international intelligence agencies must take the lead. Diplomatic appeasement has failed. The regime’s collapse must come through targeted, strategic intelligence pressure combined with support to democratic actors within and outside Turkey. In the end, this is not just about Turkey.
