President Trump prides himself on being a great deal maker. Well. He now has the opportunity to make “the deal of the century.” With the future of humanity at stake, Trump must negotiate a comprehensive treaty with President Xi of China to establish a pause on advanced AI development and a ban on super intelligence. In order to prevent a nuclear war, Reagan and Gorbachev negotiated a nuclear arms agreement in the 1980s. In order to prevent AI from acting independently of human control, Trump and Xi must do the same.

During my first year of teaching, there was a veteran teacher near my classroom with nearly thirty years of experience. She was methodical, well prepared, deeply professional, and ran a calm, well-managed classroom. One day, I watched our assistant principal, someone who hadn’t taught in a classroom for over a decade, reprimand her for the way she managed her students. I was stunned. Sadly, this wasn’t an isolated moment. It reflects a pattern that shows up far too often in education: veteran teachers being treated like children by people who haven’t run a classroom in years.

@TomIannitti Safe, healthy, modern facilities are certainly important. Pedagogical mandates from educrats with limited actual education experience under the guise of “reform” have done real damage to the system. Replace the buildings, replace the management.

Today, we honor the working people who built Rhode Island and the labor movement that fought for the rights too many of us now take for granted. A fair wage. A safe workplace. A voice on the job. The ability to support a family with dignity. Those protections were won because working people stood together and fought for them. As Attorney General, I’ll always stand with Rhode Island workers, defend their rights, and hold accountable anyone who tries to exploit them. Happy Labor Day to Rhode Island’s working families. Since 2009, RI workers have worked longer, accepted smaller retirement benefits & sacrificed COLAs to help stabilize the pension system. They did their part. As the system grows stronger, workers should share in that progress. We rebuilt the fund. Now let’s rebuild retirement.
