Grace and truth are meant to coexist. Truth without grace is debilitating, but grace without truth is spiritually damaging. When browsing social media, remember that much of the content we consume is missing half the picture.
It's missing important context that so many in the LGBT/LDS conversation forget. Namely, the vital role covenants play in each of our spiritual development.
This was a good reminder of how easy it is on social media to only present half the picture. While the partial quote is important, it removes a vital element of truth from his call to offer grace and understanding to others.
He then adds: "When we love God, we make and strive to keep our sacred covenants. I testify that living gospel commandments brings anyone untold blessings, allowing us to become our very best selves, exactly who God wants us to be."
Certainly, we must do better than we have done in the past… …so that all members feel they have a spiritual home where their brothers and sisters love them and where they have a place to worship and serve the Lord."
