From time to time, I remember a person on here that I used to consider my very good friend, who blocked me on everything and hasn’t spoken to me in over a decade, because we got into an argument on Tumblr, in which I had said that Nigeria had an Islamic terrorism problem, and she had responded that Boko Haram were not Muslims, and we went back and forth about this, and I’ll never forget what she said. She said if they are Muslims then I think all Muslims are terrorists and I should tell her where to buy her own gun too since I think she’s a terrorist. (I had never personalised the argument to her, my whole side was entirely about Boko Haram) Then she blocked me everywhere and we didn’t speak for five years. I attempted to reconcile after that and her new excuse was that she saw me being transphobic (this person is a bisexual Muslim quasi-lesbian) So we have not spoken for over a decade despite me at the time having cared deeply about our friendship but I think about her from time to time. I also discovered around the same time then that a few mutual friends we had had blocked me possibly at her behest, for the same reason (Islamophobia and transphobia) I wonder how many other people over the years have lost relationships that seemed healthy over allegiances to ideological groups that eventually turned out to be just as harmful as the person cut off said they were. Now that Islamic terrorism in Nigeria has reached a crescendo, and Muslim terrorists openly kidnap hundreds of people daily, slaughter whole towns openly for not converting to Islam, and ✌🏾repentant terrorists✌🏾swear on the Quran that they have changed, I wonder whether she has ever stopped to think about how she attempted to gaslight me that terrorism has nothing to do with Islam, and had the audacity to find me the wrongdoer in our friendship for refusing to be gaslit. I wonder if she ever considers how her role as an apologist multiplied across billions of regular Muslims or even say millions of ✌🏾liberal Muslims✌🏾like her, facilitates and excuses the terrorism we are now suffering in Nigeria, and how in the same vein her apologia for transgenderism facilitates the suffering that women who are harmed by it go through. But I don’t think she has or ever will. People rarely admit when they were wrong or treated others unfairly. I don’t think she will ever apologise to me, nor do I expect her to. I just wonder whether as she feels progressively more unsafe in Nigeria, and all the pro-trans laws in the west are rapidly being reversed as evidence of serious harm keeps coming to light, if she ever realises this is the thing she was in denial about. And I also wonder how many other people something similar has happened to.

Austrian president said all women should wear a hijab to show solidarity with Muslims: “With increasing Islamophobia, we might have to ask ALL women to wear a headscarf to show solidarity with those who do so for religious reasons.” This is mental illness.

Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, UAE that Nigerians are traveling to enjoy good life became rich because of their oil. Same Oil Nigeria found and looted it. Our leaders both past and present are mostly criminals.

A HUGE fan of the push to keep under-16s off social media. I think it's an excellent idea, and NONE of the alleged positives, combined, amount to even a fraction of the immense, often irreversible negatives. I hope governments and society implement as quickly as possible

This gives good arguments for those that feel the country should be divided.

Went to buy my usual pepper and tomatoes today and immediately noticed how small the quantity was. I had to increase my budget and asked the seller to add more because what I was getting for the same money made no sense. Only to get home and open Instagram to see your president saying the economy has recovered, agriculture is booming, and food is now everywhere. These guys live in an alternate universe

Letting 'repentant bandits' back into society while thousands of their victims are still traumatized is a slap in the face to the victims, their families, and Nigerians as a whole.

Nigeria has one of the strongest hustle cultures in the world. That's not something to be proud of. A country shouldn't require extraordinary effort just to achieve ordinary things.

3000 terrorists reintegrated into the society with no consequence. These are murderers, kidnappers, violent thugs. There is something fundamentally wrong with that contraption called Nigeria - that includes forcefully marrying people with different ideals together.

The thing with Nigerians is that even if everyone collectively agrees not to buy or pay for it. Somebody will still do it and tell everyone else to get their money up that it’s because they are broke that’s why they are complaining.

The fact that we accepted to paying 1300 naira for a litre of fuel is why they will increase it. The fact that we accepted to paying 2400 naira per kg of gas is why they will increase it. For every bad policy we adjust to, more will surely come.
