Thinking of Mahsa Jina Amini, aged 22, who was arrested in Iran by the “morality police” for allegedly wearing her headscarf “incorrectly” and showing a few strands of her hair. She was beaten and detained, and shortly afterwards, she died. Her death sparked protests across Iran and around the world, as women took to the streets, burned their headscarves, cut their hair, and demanded an end to oppression. Let’s hope what is happening in Iran today means no Iranian woman or girl will be oppressed, tortured or murdered again by this tyrannical regime. Let this truly be the end. Thank you @WhiteHouse @IsraeliPM for giving Iranian women a chance.
Like many of you I have been watching what is happening in Iran. The courage of the people there is unmistakable. They are asking for dignity. They are asking to live freely and safely. I admire their bravery and I stand with them. In moments like this there are no complex sides. There is freedom or there is terror. The choice could not be more obvious.

Sarah Milgrim, 26, was a passionate peace activist. When Elias Rodriguez shot her, simply because she was Jewish, he murdered not just a bright young woman, but the very kind of person our world so desperately needs: someone working tirelessly to create a more peaceful, just, and shared future for all. May her memory be a blessing.
