Inadequate. The Gov needs to take action against those who hosted the event and to ensure that such events are prohibited in UK. They also need to challenge the support for the event shown by groups like @BoardofDeputies who not only defended it, but publicly endorsed the lie that no properties in illegal settlements were on sale, and disgracefully used the smear of antisemitism and threats to Jewish safety to demonise those who rightfully protested this criminal enterprise. Questions also need to be asked of @metpoliceuk who not only took no action to investigate any breach of UK law arising from the event but allowed Zuonist counter demonstrators to intimidate and racially harass protestors.

‘Inadequate measures’: Green Party MP Ellie Chowns pressed Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper why she did nothing to prevent an Israeli property event from taking place in London – one that included selling developments on illegal settlements in the West Bank. Rights groups such as Amnesty International and Palestine Solidarity Campaign had warned the government about the event in the weeks leading up to it. We are deeply disturbed at the wholly unjustified protest called for this morning outside a synagogue. We are calling on the police to ensure such protests are kept a significant distance from places of worship to prevent intimidation to members of the Jewish community.

REVEALED: Jewish activists @JAZA_UK have shown us material from inside an Israeli property event in London yesterday, which shows that illegal settlements on Palestinian land were on sale in the UK. Activists gained access to the event, spoke to numerous developers about the properties for sale in Israeli settlements - which are illegal under British and international law - before they were ejected for disrupting the speeches. The Board of Deputies, which calls itself a representational body for British Jews, claimed that all properties being sold were inside Israel, however these pamphlets clearly show the opposite is true.

This has become standard feature of demonstrations in support of Palestinian rights. Police allowing counter demonstrators to be within metres of the protest and to chant anti Palestinian abuse. At the National marches counter demonstrations organised by @StopTheHate_UK have featured the loud playing , over sound systems, of bombs dropping followed by " another one bites the dust", throat slitting gestures and mock rifle aiming directed at marchers, Muslim Women being told " we hope you get raped" alongside racist anti Palestinian chants. All acceptable to the Police who have consistently placed the protests no further than 30 metres away from the marches on the basis that they have a right to be within " sight and sound" of the demonstration they are countering. Tell me again about " 2 tier policing" and remember the reports documenting institutionalised Islamophobia which we are now told are disabling the Police from acting robustly.
