Salaries that once sustained families now run out mid-month. Transport costs change without notice. Food prices rise faster than income can adjust. Small businesses are shutting down quietly, one after another. This is not theory, these are lived experiences. So, when Nigerians hear claims of improvements, they do what any rational people would do: They measure it against what they see; and for many, the gap is too wide to ignore. Democracy was never meant to feel this distant. It was never meant to exist only in speeches, while the people it serves struggle to survive. Democracy is supposed to show up in daily life, in food security, in safety, in jobs, in dignity, in the quiet assurance that tomorrow will not be worse than today. Right now, that assurance is missing. There is also a deeper concern that continues to grow across the political space. Questions about openness, competition and fairness in the democratic process, are being raised more frequently by citizens and stakeholders alike. These are not academic debates, they go to the heart of public trust. Yet, instead of direct answers, Nigerians are often met with calls for patience and explanations about reforms still taking shape; but for many families, patience has already been exhausted. It is in this climate that the message of His Excellency, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, continues to gain attention within the "Atiku Is For The People" global movement and beyond. It is not a message of excuses. It is a message centered on direction. Atiku’s position is clear and consistent: Rebuild the economy, restore Investor confidence, create sustainable jobs, strengthen national security, and return government to the service of ordinary Nigerians.
