Noticing some folks reasoning that particular students don't deserve a militant police response bc they are "peaceful." I don't care if students break windows, shove back, or throw things; none of them deserve a militarized police response. They're protesting a genocide.

It's mindboggling that the shitshow of Occupy, which the existing anarchist movement largely boycotted, mocked, and was in dire conflict with in virtually every city in multiple serious respects, has gotten historically rewritten into being some instance of anarchism.

I wasn't around during Occupy and yeah it sounded chaotic, but to pin all ideological confusion/disorganisation on anarchism is a bit rich coming from Marxists who split into new groups every 5 minutes because they can't agree on who should be in charge

when i started participating in militant struggles, i never heard anyone arnd me talk abt their “radicalization” involving books or something they consumed. they talked abt some confrontation w/police or the courts…

the commune remains. only 1 arrest, an unrelated student. with every empty threat and failed attack, the pigs only grow weaker & the intifada only grows stronger.

OK. This is a very helpful re-frame on an common topic discussed in protest movements in the US.
