In my first week at the D1 level, I was contacted by 12 AAU coaches and handlers who NEVER returned my calls or texts in my decade at the D3 level. All 12 had a kid who was a “perfect fit” for a D1 team trying to rebuild. So let’s talk about “fit” 1/5

You can't expect every part of your training to be fun. There are times to have fun, and there are times to work hard and embrace the grind.
As an athlete, you need to go through adversity to fully appreciate success. Winning feels better when you’ve experienced the pain of losing.
If your coach holds you accountable, you are VERY fortunate. A lot of coaches accept their players doing whatever they want, whenever they want with no consequences. Discipline/responsibility/accountability are life prep! If your coach cares that much, you’re lucky so respect it!

Let’s face it, it’s not an evaluation if those doing the evaluating, don’t know the criteria for the evaluation and it’s not feedback if it’s anonymous. Feedback requires a loop and the anonymous nature removes the loop. Well said @TFCoachCarlson
