I’m turning 41, but I don’t feel like celebrating.
Our generation is running out of time to save the free Internet built for us by our fathers.
What was once the promise of the free exchange of information is being turned into the ultimate tool of control.
Once-free countries are introducing dystopian measures such as digital IDs (UK), online age checks (Australia), and mass scanning of private messages (EU).
Germany is persecuting anyone who dares to criticize officials on the Internet. The UK is imprisoning thousands for their tweets. France is criminally investigating tech leaders who defend freedom and privacy.
A dark, dystopian world is approaching fast — while we’re asleep. Our generation risks going down in history as the last one that had freedoms — and allowed them to be taken away.
We’ve been fed a lie.
We’ve been made to believe that the greatest fight of our generation is to destroy everything our forefathers left us: tradition, privacy, sovereignty, the free market, and free speech.
By betraying the legacy of our ancestors, we’ve set ourselves on a path toward self-destruction — moral, intellectual, economic, and ultimately biological.
So no, I’m not going to celebrate today. I’m running out of time. WE are running out of time.

Renaud Partners Deep Dive: Arcium
Why Arcium?
Privacy is becoming the most important missing layer in crypto. As the industry matures, applications are handling increasingly sensitive data like financial records, biometric identity, AI model weights, yet most of this data is exposed the moment it’s processed. @arcium changes that.
Arcium is an encrypted supercomputer built for the new internet. One where digital interactions, applications, and infrastructure can operate in a fully encrypted state. It allows developers and institutions to compute over data without ever decrypting it, unlocking the full potential of confidential computing for Web3 and beyond.
At Renaud Partners, we’re supporting Arcium because we believe privacy is the next major unlock for scalability, institutional adoption, and trust across the Solana ecosystem.
Let’s dive in.
The Internet Wasn’t Built For Privacy
Data lives in three states: At rest, in transit, and in use.
Encryption has long protected the first two. But the moment data is processed “in use” it’s exposed. This has always been the trade-off: To do anything meaningful with data, you first have to decrypt it.
Whether running an AI model, executing a smart contract, or settling an order book, that exposure creates attack surfaces, leaks, and compliance nightmares. Arcium fixes that by making it possible to compute over encrypted data securely, verifiably, and at scale.
From Hardware Trust To Cryptographic Trust
Until now, “confidential computing” depended on hardware enclaves (TEEs) like Intel SGX. These systems isolate code in secure hardware zones, but they’ve been repeatedly compromised by side-channel attacks, firmware exploits, and opaque vendor dependencies. Arcium takes a different route. Instead of trusting hardware, it builds trust directly through cryptography. Specifically, secure multi-party computation (MPC). With MPC, data is split across multiple independent nodes, who collectively compute a result without any single party ever seeing the underlying inputs. That means no central point of failure and no plaintext exposure, even while computation is happening.
How Arcium Works
Arcium introduces a fully distributed stack for encrypted computation:
> MXEs (Multi-Party eXecution Environments): Isolated, configurable computation sandboxes where encrypted tasks run.
> arxOS: A decentralized operating system coordinating clusters of nodes that power these computations.
> Arcis: Rust-based developer framework for writing privacy-preserving applications directly on the Arcium network.
Together, these components form a cryptographic supercomputer that can run anything from machine learning to DeFi contracts without revealing data to operators, nodes, or even counterparties.
Why It Matters
Arcium enables a new internet primitive: Compute without exposure.
> For projects like @UmbraPrivacy it unlocks privacy-preserving tools that are impossible on today’s transparent blockchains.
> For enterprises, it offers verifiable computation on encrypted datasets without breaking compliance.
> For users, it restores data ownership keeping information secure even when in use.
In practice, this means you can run analytics across encrypted datasets, execute smart contracts with private state, or train AI models without revealing sensitive inputs all while maintaining on-chain verifiability.
Key Advantages
Arcium is making encryption usable. The network provides a complete framework that’s as practical as it is secure. It ensures full-lifecycle encryption, protecting data not just when stored or sent, but even as it’s being processed. Every computation happens inside a cryptographically sealed environment, making unauthorized access virtually impossible.
Because everything runs through multi-party computation, there’s no need to trust hardware or intermediaries, only math. This makes Arcium inherently trustless and verifiable.
Performance is built in from day one. Parallel execution across MXEs allows computations to run concurrently, ensuring the network is fast enough for real-world workloads.
And it’s flexible. Arcium’s composable, multichain architecture means developers can integrate encrypted computing into Solana or extend it across other ecosystems, all through an intuitive SDK that simplifies confidential smart contract development.
Example Use Cases
> Confidential DeFi: Users can trade, lend, or borrow without revealing positions or order sizes, preventing front-running and protecting alpha.
> Private AI Training: Companies can train shared AI models on encrypted datasets without exposing proprietary information or user data.
> Encrypted Analytics: Multiple organizations, e.g., banks, hospitals, or logistics providers can derive insights from shared datasets without sharing raw data.
> Dark Pools & Institutional Trading: Fully private order flow and encrypted settlement protect counterparties and enable true institutional adoption.
> Secure Identity & Credentials: Decentralized KYC and zero-knowledge identity systems where verification happens without exposing user data.
> Private Marketplaces: Auctions and bidding systems where bids remain confidential until final settlement.
> DePIN Coordination: IoT and sensor networks sharing sensitive operational data securely across distributed hardware.
Progress and Roadmap
Arcium has spent the past year turning a bold vision into functioning infrastructure. Its architecture from arxOS to MXEs to Arcis is live across internal and partner test environments, validating the core promise of encrypted computation at scale. The network is already integrated with @solana, leveraging its speed and throughput to orchestrate encrypted workloads and manage staking, rewards, and verification fully on-chain.
A developer toolkit is available, offering a web-based interface and SDK that make it easy for builders to deploy encrypted apps with minimal code. Node operators are joining early, staking collateral and running MPC nodes that will form the backbone of the Arcium Network.
The next milestones are clear:
> Public testnet is live, opening access to developers and early adopters, including both MPC backends (Cerberus and Manticore).
> Mainnet launch in Q4, bringing production-ready encrypted computation to Solana and beyond.
But this is just the beginning. From there, Arcium plans to expand into multichain orchestration, enterprise integrations, and privacy SDKs that make encrypted computing a standard across all of Web3.
Introducing the Confidential SPL Token Standard
As part of its next development phase, Arcium is introducing the Confidential SPL Token (C-SPL) a unified, privacy-first token standard for Solana.
The Confidential SPL Token merges SPL Token, Token-2022, the Confidential Transfer Extension, and Arcium’s encrypted MPC computing into one powerful standard. It’s designed to solve the limitations that have held back privacy adoption on Solana and to unlock a new generation of confidential DeFi, payments, and stablecoin applications.
The standard is currently in active development following conversations with core engineers, developers, institutional players, and infrastructure teams all of whom share the same message: Confidentiality is critical, but current tools are too complex or limited. Arcium is actively collaborating with ecosystem partners to bring C-SPL live, with early access to selected teams coming to testnet end of this year.
At its core, confidentiality means encrypting token amounts, balances, and metadata. On Solana, that has long been missing or overly complex to integrate. The Confidential SPL Token changes that by preserving the familiar SPL developer experience while baking privacy directly into the standard.
Why It Matters
Previous solutions like Token-2022 and the Confidential Transfer Extension made progress but fell short: Confidential transfers couldn’t be handled by smart contracts, recipients had to pre-create accounts, and adoption lagged. C-SPL solves these issues by leveraging Arcium’s private state management and encrypted compute layer making confidential transfers, trading, and payments programmable and frictionless.
Key Improvements
> Smart-Contract Compatibility: Confidential transfers can now be executed programmatically by any Solana contract unlocking true confidential DeFi.
> Frictionless UX: Senders can create confidential token accounts for recipients automatically, no pre-setup required.
> Canonical Confidential Mints: Any SPL token can be wrapped into a confidential version seamlessly, without new mints or user friction.
> Auditor Support: Token issuers can optionally assign audit roles for compliance without compromising privacy.
> Unified Developer Experience: Familiar SPL APIs and tooling, now with privacy by default.
The result is simple: the same SPL experience, now encrypted. With C-SPL, developers and institutions can integrate confidentiality as easily as they once added tokens enabling private payments, stablecoins, and trading directly within Solana’s ecosystem.
Privacy Season < Privacy Decade
We believe privacy will define the next decade of crypto. Without it, institutions can’t onboard, AI can’t compute responsibly, and consumer applications can’t protect users and Arcium re-architects how data is handled online.
By combining cryptographic security, verifiable computation, and Solana’s high-performance foundation, Arcium is building the privacy layer our industry has been waiting for.
That’s why we’re proud to support their mission and why we believe Arcium will become one of the most important infrastructure projects in crypto.

Drinking coffee and thinking ☕️
Seeing people lose their minds, and conviction, over “Meme Rush” on $BNB - a playbook on that was, by the exact same name, done on $AVAX 2+ years ago reaffirms what I thought about this space - other chains copy what Avax does but never give credit where it is due. While some criticisms are justified, I think that ultimately there has to be a LEADER in this space and Avalanche has been that leader. Everyone is talking about the same old bundled shitcoin launches just on different chains, the same old CT accounts switching their pfp’s to whatever ecosystem NFT is hot at the moment; when our bags were going parabolic and everyone was bridging here at the beginning of the year it was good times - but now you doubt.
Crypto is growing up, and while other foundations are still playing musical chairs on the same old shitcoin launches, Avalanche has done more for this space to make crypto useful than all of these other teams combined. Another example, BNB now announcing a huge grant program for builders, while Avalanche has supported builders financially with incentives programs and with hands on support for the last 4 years - silence from CT but it happened. Avalanche has had multiple tech upgrades in the last year that have made it faster and cheaper and easier to deploy to - silence from CT but it happened. They brought a crypto based game onto the PlayStation - silence from CT but it happened. And just this week, for example, it announced a Dow Jones index for crypto products onto their blockchain - silence from CT but it happened. These type of tech upgrades, attempts to onboard builders, and partnerships are announced monthly. The focus appears to be on where the puck is going not where it’s been for the umpteenth time.
I’m still banking that $AVAX will have a run this quarter, but how can you claim to have a movement when you have no motion? AVAX has motion. 🔺
