The hardest part is working on this thing for so long and not getting to share it with y'all. I took the first interview for this project 1004 days ago. A thousand days of thinking about our core challenges, crafting a world, helping others fill it with new, cool things. Gone.
Update: Feeling ok, but still no movement in the right side of my face/eye. My speech is a little off with F, P, and B sounds. Going to continue to rest, and I might try to do a short stream on Monday.
@willsmith Yes. Since lockdown we pivoted to fully remote & have had great success building processes around it. We still get together for team building, etc but are primarily remote.
Alright, nobody panic. I was in the ER yesterday and was diagnosed with Bell's Palsy. Should be fine eventually. For now half of my face is afk. Taking prescribed meds. Streams will be on hold for now. Could be back in 2 days or 2 months idk, but I'll keep everyone posted.
So much of the work running a studio is invisible work that isn’t tangible in the game but is important part of keeping the studio and project on track, funding, on going biz dev, admin, needs of the team. Helps to share that with team so they know what’s going on too.
Just because someone worked at a AAA game studio doesn't mean they know how to run a studio 😔
It tickles me to no end when "anti-woke" crumbums cry about being actively edged out of video games when they're just self-selecting and choosing not to play games they love because they suddenly realize their tired stances are the joke. Just living daily life on max difficulty.

I describe streamers in 3 main tiers: ➡️Billboard (Top CCV creators) ➡️Spokesperson (High CCV creators) ➡️Trusted Friend (Mid to low CCV creators) A billboard gets lots of eyes in passing, sure. But a trusted friend is more likely to turn a casual glance into a purchase.
Would love to see more sponsorships and other brand opportunities for streamers not based solely around CCV. High CCV ≠ Engaged Community. I see so many creators with highly engaged viewers that most brands would consider “too small” to work with. A small thread. 🧵
