I recently gave an exam where the avg score was 40%. I felt like a failure. I took some time over the past 2 weeks to re-teach the skill. Avg score? 80%. Moral of the story? If the kids aren't getting it, it's probably not them. Humble yourself & try again. -@tracyrenee70 🔥🔥
@teachergoals @tracyrenee70 So true!! I just went through this a couple of weeks ago. Yes, it put me “behind” on our pacing guide but I could not in good conscience move on. They knew it and I knew it. #worthit
@teachergoals @3PointPlayer @tracyrenee70 Or don’t make the 2nd test easier! 😂😂😂
@teachergoals @tracyrenee70 I always reteach and reassess high miss questions on an exam. Period!
@teachergoals @tracyrenee70 They just need more time to learn it the 1st time. I hate it that we have to rush them through the skills so much; especially math. Thanks for sharing this. You are so right!
@teachergoals @tracyrenee70 I agree with your assessment. Well done. #reflectiveteachingworks
@teachergoals @tracyrenee70 Thank you for doing this! I had a mentor tell me if more than 20% of your class doesn’t know the material—it’s not them...it’s you. Reteach it in a different way! It worked! And that was 38 years ago! 👏🏾👏🏾
@teachergoals @tracyrenee70 You. Are. Goals. Your kids are lucky to have you and your growth mindset leading them this school year.
@teachergoals @tracyrenee70 I agree. I had to do that also. Teaching I'd an art form It takes practice, patience and perseverance.
@teachergoals @tracyrenee70 In all situations we have to humble ourselves. I agree with you.
