To be classified a hit out smash, the ball pretty much has to be deliberately smashed and leave the center square (or equivalent distance around the ground). It’s been around forever and won’t change anything.

@AflGlicko @52_mike Daicos, Sheezel, Darcy, NAS, Harley, Callaghan, Ashcroft, Butters, Anderson will all be better than him in 27. There’s others like Errol, Serong, Rowell, McCluggage as well. A case for Bont and some other older players to still be better at that time.

@AflGlicko @wanchorm8 For defenders he ranks elite in disposals, 78% DE. He also ranks elite in contested possessions, ground balls and clearances. Has been remarkably consistent. You could seriously put him in the AA team.

@AflGlicko @SuperHansPS Interesting take. The stats show that every year since 2015, one team has come from nowhere to finish top 4. Absolutely not a dig, but wondering if your model can predict which team makes the jump?
