I keep thinking about this Stokely Carmichael quote: “If a white man wants to lynch me, that's his problem. If he's got the power to lynch me, that's my problem. Racism is not a question of attitude; it's a question of power.”
@stewartdantec I don't believe powerlessness is a virtue.

@stewartdantec Never far from the forefront of my mind. (His) Genius is timeless.
@stewartdantec His story is severely underwritten.
@stewartdantec @ReignOfApril I have said this for years about women's "rights" as well. It's about power. Thank you.
@stewartdantec This sums it up perfectly and yet, there are still too many who do not get it nor understand.
@stewartdantec @socofthesacred Definitely feel like the white guy who wants to lynch Carmichael (but lacks the power to do so) is nevertheless still exhibiting pretty extreme racism. Would Carmichael have disagreed?
@stewartdantec This notion of power is weirdly abstract. Fact is, the power to harm someone is very easy to come by. Someone with a gun always has that power. And if one hates enough to not care about consequences, it's not just their problem. So in the end it remains mostly about attitude.
