It’s not a teacher shortage problem. It’s a you disrespected, underpaid & demonized teachers so they resigned from the profession problem.
@saribethrose My daughter teaches in a very respected 7 - 12 district here in South Jersey. She’s a union officer and just informed me that her district lost 35 teachers since June. They can barely find replacements, especially in Special Ed. It’s becoming a crisis.
@saribethrose The same with Nurses, Doctors that actually worked in hospitals would beg ppl to get vaccinated & wear masks because they were over taxed with unvaxxed Covid patients, surgeries were being put off but ppl listened to Fox News & Joe Rogan & decided they know more than Doctors.
@saribethrose As a former teacher, it is a lack of parental support and accountability for their childs behavior that drove most teachers away. Admin cater to disruptive students (special privileges) to behave, while the hardworking students aren't being taught grade level curriculum.
@saribethrose Not to mention they want all teachers to be armed and to act as police in an active shooter situation so THE POLICE don't have to come out. "Oh, somebody's at the school shooting kids? The teachers can handle it. And if they don't, we'll blame them."
@saribethrose 100%. I'm a triple certified, highly effective teacher with a passion for the classroom and student success. I'm no longer in the classroom because Ron DeSantis decided to use my profession as a political football and made it unbearable.
