My autistic brain’s need for certainty and clarity means that if someone mispronounces, omits or uses one word unconventionally, I may not grasp what they are saying and may ask Qs. This need is often misread as sarcasm/criticism, but it comes from a genuine desire to understand.

I think many people don't realize that autistic people under extreme stress can immediately snap back to "work mode" or "customer service mode" because our whole lives have required that of us in ways that haven't been true for allistic people.
