To understand IMEI tracking, you first have to separate three concepts that people often mix together: 1. IMEI identification 2. Cellular network location 3. GPS location They are related, but they are not the same thing. What Exactly Is an IMEI? An IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) is a unique number assigned to a phone's cellular radio hardware Think of it like a vehicle's VIN number.
