The fact that TikTok is an incubator for social contagion has to be deliberate, and here's my argument: If there wasn't some kind of subtle hidden hand behind amplifying the crazy, why would the CCP need an entirely separate-but-identical app for use in China? 1/4
You can't get TikTok in China, only Douyin, which is exactly TikTok but without any of the content that's on TikTok. You can download Douyin in the West but cannot get TikTok in China. They would easily have the ability to run one system with a China content filter but don't. 2/4
@neontaster Eh. Libs of TikTok amplifies fringe accounts that I never see when I go on TikTok. GOP is all about libs of TikTok content so they must think that is the mainstream of stuff on TikTok. China has different content censorship rules than America.
@neontaster Instagram / YouTube were much more influential incubators imo
@neontaster @redsteeze This degeneracy is not to blame on the China. Remember Tumblr? Reddit anyone? Snapchat? This has been injected by academia, corporate "capitalism", regulators in the EU/US. TikTok is a mirror into western "Blessing of liberty" degeneracy.
@neontaster For the life what is the difference of TikTok and Facebook? This ban just makes our Tech Overlords more powerful without their main competitor.
@neontaster Note that they ban Americans who speak out against leftist trans ideology *outside of TikTok*. One man spoke at a rally in Tennessee and his account was deleted the same day, without explanation. He had no content on TikTok on the issue. This suggests they're gashing US culture.
@neontaster @lyndseyfifield Because Chinese has strict internet censorship - why is there a 'separate-but-identical' Bing in China?
@neontaster Are you on the app at all? I basically get a shit ton of clips of hikaru calculating and bodybuilding tips. Idk man I think it’s similar to Twitter where users get the content they’re looking for.
