@Kate_L_Mosso @BitcoinCashOG Up until 2017 it was identical to BTC in all measurable ways, and it still to this day has all history shared from the genesis block up until the fork date. It is **a** real bitcoin, but it is not **the** real bitcoin. The original bitcoin no longer exist, except in name.

I've read up on this weeks discussion on the faster block proposal (here: bitcoincashresearch.org/t/chip-2025-03…) and it has further strengthened my conviction for it. I will review the chip in full before end of august, and expect to provide a public endorsement at that time.
@4moonsettler I think you're right. It was expected to be less volatile the more actors participate and as you get more diverse opinions on the price. With the ETF and tradfi people now part of the actor groups and the liquidity / volume being as high as it, I doubt we'll see another quick 10x

@notgrubles There are also non-custodial decentralized stablecoins with market driven stability mechanics, which can operate as native tokens enforced just like satoshis are. You just have to look at bitcoins little brother BCH and @ParyonUSD

Freedom Of Ideas! Calin Culianu's opinion on why BCH is technically stronger today because Amaury left, is that he had positioned himself as a dictator... his way or the highway. He pushed out talented people who disagreed with him. Innovation in the BCH VM happened after he was gone. @zquestz running hot can be turned into a benefit instead of loss, the vast amount of energy used by regular households in colder climates is naturally for heating. harder sell in warmer climates where AC is the main cost, though.
@MarcDeMesel I'm not a financial expert by any means, but there are some factors to consider that might not have been here as significantly before: 1) USD devaluation has rapidly expanded 2) ETFs and tradfi got involved heavily since ~2024. The ETFs are financially savvy and at new scales.
@xsamsnz your chart shows about 3-4 months to good times, but I kindof doubt it. I think we'll bounce back into the ascending triangle then fool around in there a bit longer before breaking out.

@HeroOfBitcoin Is it? I thought it was fiat that was NGD tech, and that bitcoin derived it's value from shared expectations rather than actual utility as a medium of exchange. Unit of account is nowhere to be seen, and store of value is questionable as it didn't even beat inflation on 5y time
