wow I hadn't heard of Zeta the issuer processor zeta.tech/us/
it’s wild how many of my problems are solved by journaling
the secret to making having a newborn easy and fun: ✅ supportive partner ✅ ample maternity leave ✅ luck out with an easy baby ✅ lots of paid help ✅ lots of helpful family nearby ✅lots of money to buy gadgets
I had an extremely important, could not be interrupted one hour meeting, so I geared up, set up Dave with some milk, prepped everyone. then the meeting ended 15 min in because there were no questions or outstanding items since I’d handled them asynchronously in advance 💪
honestly I don’t think the Affordable Care Act gets enough love, there’s so much good stuff in it! Not being able to be declined for pre-existing conditions is literally life changing. Free birth control is so so cool!
asked a founder today if I could just redo one of the graphs in their pitch deck for them — it’s the right info it just needs to be shown in a more powerful way!!
how someone does something is how they do everything. if you’re not following up quickly for a job opportunity, how can you be trusted to follow up quickly while you’re in the job?

everytime I pull a onesie over my baby’s head it looks like she’s being birthed through the neck of the onesie she must be thinking “oh jeez not this again”
People complain and make fun of toddlers but I think there is something very healing for me personally to parent her through this: It is ok and totally valid to want your fruit cut in a specific way and to ask for that It is ok and totally valid to ask for your fruit to be cut… x.com/i/web/status/1…
some time ago I asked an elderly woman next to me on the plane if she would mind switching seats to an equivalent different seat. she said no. I said “ok no worries, you’re entitled to the seat you booked!” and sat quietly next to her putting my things away. a minute or two… x.com/i/web/status/1…
what do you think is the least busy time at the social security administration office?
ok just left an AWESOME @BloombergBeta book debut for Co-intelligence by @emollick - incredibly lively fun event! I learned a ton! I took notes - so many incredible cool tidbits about where we’re at with AI, we were clearly in the presence of a true expert
I don’t know how this would work from a technical perspective but I wish your headphones would make a noise when the audio source switches away from them
startup founders are stepping down as CEOs to become VCs who will step down at firms to go back to operating so they can start angel investing on the side to build their track records to become GPs who wi
Feels like way more physical banks exist than is warranted who tf is doing all this banking
One thing that is both awesome and a bit sad: Literally every founder in devtools is authentically excited about what they are building. None of them are cynical MBAs focused on how to get rich and powerful. Not all of their businesses will work, even if the tech is amazing.
This resonates. I think that even in large companies the *really important projects* are often done by a small group of people as well, often repeat performances. Getting on the very short list of people that a company can rely on when major things need to happen is a noble aim

@mikekanaan She’s a big fan of blueberries and mozzarella cheese
Parenting talk with non parents is so idealistic. The reality of parenting is constantly trying things like feeding a couple puffs to her to get her to start eating and then eat the real food
Fun exercise- doesn’t sound like the type of thing that would happen anymore, but The ceos of GM (joined at 18), Microsoft (25), Costco (18), Walmart (18), IBM (27), Bank of America (24) Have spent almost their entire working lives at the companies they now helm.

When you’re stuck, ask yourself: what’s the simplest, worst version of this I can whip out in 15 minutes? • Free-flow shitty first draft of a blog post • 5-slide presentation with no design flourish • Messy project mindmap in your notebook Put a timer on and give it a try :)
@kevinleeme I took this advice from my old therapist to date someone completely different from me and contrary to my type. Turns out my social experiment turned into my life partner 🙃 Dating on paper is creates power couples but not always emotionally secure relationships.
Most of my successful friends in their 30s are still struggling with modern dating. One of my best friends recently got into a serious relationship and told me his biggest dating unlock came from listening to a podcast with the Director of Relationship Science at Hinge. Internet fist bump to the founder who mailed me in January 2017 about making a bank. The bank just launched.
for years i haven't been able to stop thinking about the frozen greek yogurt from the san francisco restaurant Souvla. creamy, dense, tangy, just the slightest bit sweet i am here to report that i have recreated it with the "creami" ice cream maker and i can't stop making it
Team we did it. We all chipped in to keep this homeowner’s property taxes reasonable for several decades And they are finally under contract for the big exit🥹 This is victory for all of us in California who helped out🙏
it's hard to comprehend that one (1) baby smile per day would be worth ruined sleep for months and permanent damage to your body but the plain objective truth is that it is
I think I've told this story before, but: my first month at Stripe, a senior eng on my team (thanks Patrick!) noticed me print-debugging, pulled up a chair and said "we are going to spend the next hour getting you comfortable actually using a debugger." Probably the single… x.com/i/web/status/1…
i had weird twisted dreams when i was pregnant too. they’d start off happy and normal and suddenly somebody’s face would shift or there would be a slight change in their tone of voice and it would become clear that there was something very dark happening that i hadn’t seen before

@OfficialBBrooks Usually and job creation. But, some of my founders are challenging my love for doing the work.
@pitdesi @vladtenev Cash back is for nerds. Give me a bunch of Amex points to use on flights they mark up 40% inside their travel booking portal
@maiab the salted watermelon ones, which i love, are 100mg. the margarita ones have 150mg but they weren’t my fave. it’s hard to describe but they do just make me feel like yes, i can go a bit further and not hate it
@maiab Some aspects of aca are truly a lifeline for many. Pre-existing conditions being one of them. Maternity coverage too.
