My wife’s mom has Alzheimer’s disease. Earlier tonight, we left her parents alone at their Airbnb while we took the kids to urgent care for ear infections. Her dad fell asleep on the couch. Her mom wandered out the door… 🧵

@BJegorovic Ah, you mean Cotrim or Moxi iv? For cotrim, imho, the Volume of distribution is very high, so Idk how good it is for bacteremic states.. Would prefer Moxi over Cotrim. But given the severe illness, I personally would stick with what we know works (Vanc) and then switch to oral
@Dr_Oubre University of Iowa CCOM teaches it! We actually had simulated patients who were told to go on and on about something unrelated and we had to tactfully redirect.
