Never a bad time to repeat the fact that like 80 percent of the things wrong with this country can be traced back to the fact that we weren't nearly mean enough to the South after it lost the war

@jerryiannelli Mean isn't the measure, holding them accountable should have been. They committed treason and the U S did not send the correct message. Just as Ford chose wrong in regards to Nixon. Seeking a pardon is an admission of guilt.
@jerryiannelli You mean like extinguishing the Democratic Party - the party of slavery - entirely?
@jerryiannelli @JonathanCohn So being mean is your answer? Gee, doesn’t sound very effective to me. The division in this country will take us all down. Unity is the answer.
Or that the south wasn't as nearly mean enough to "you" buddy. If it wasn't for Robert E Lee the south would have waged a guerrilla war for 50 years afterward. The union would have eventually ran out of immigrants to throw at the front lines. Instead the confederates just called it even after they murdered Lincoln.
@jerryiannelli @RGC_BPPA reminder lee and davis and confedercy were traiters to this country.and sick of gop defending confedertcy and making them into heroes. we didn't treat south bad enough after war they started.they succeed and fired first shots.
@jerryiannelli Every single southern politician, officer and land owner should have been left swinging
