People that AllLivesMatter the trans (or any other oppressed group) discussion are simultaneously misunderstanding and agreeing with the points being made. The sad fact is we need to point out that there are groups that don't have the same rights as everyone else.
And yes, they should have those rights, they should be part of the AllLives group but they aren't. They are excluded, deemed less than, marginalized, oppressed and hated. Just for being themselves. Just for being born and wanting to live like everyone else.
@iamharaldur Many of the members of these groups don’t appreciate being cast as victims and having you ride in as a white knight to save them though. Some think it’s insulting, some feel like you’re exasperating the perception that they are weak and lesser.
@iamharaldur True! We are in a real world. Right?
@iamharaldur Which specific rights don’t they have that others do and where specifically?
@iamharaldur Sometimes that's also the point. Opposing identity politics doesn't mean that marginalized groups aren't recognized. It simply means that policies shouldn't be targeted at a subset of society. People just ignore that antitrans laws are identity politics as well.
@iamharaldur My daughter uses a wheelchair. I guarantee that she is not included in “alllivesmatter.”
@iamharaldur @MayoIsSpicyy I think they are cynically understanding EXACTLY and disagreeing.
@iamharaldur @MayoIsSpicyy If you want to live a fantasy, that’s fine, although I wouldn’t recommend it. If you impose the fantasy on everyone else, that becomes a problem.
@iamharaldur I really wonder what these rights we are talking about are ? They are free to do everything as any other man or woman, act the gender they identify as, work, live, love freely? I'm not playing dumb, what human rights are trans people deprived from ?
