@astuyve That part I get. On version publishing, a new snapshot is created (an initialized one for that matter). Cold start for SnapStart means a snapshot gets loaded, then handler invoked. The pre warming u mentioned, in my head seems to be possible, in combination with SnapStart…
@MarkSailes3 An internal mocking library for integration testing. In mocking objects, it serializes those objects to store them in DynamoDb. The serialization uses reflection to access private fields under java.* which violates the now enforced jdk strong encapsulation docs.oracle.com/en/java/javase…

The big change in Java17 was that some of my dependencies were still doing reflection and accessing JDK internals which caused troubles due to Java 17 Strong JDK Internals encapsulation. JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS to the rescue with some —add-opens and everything started working like a charm 🪄
@MarkSailes3 This very interesting! Lots of ppl looking forwards to Lambda Java 17 support (and who knows, maybe 21 by the end of the year? 😉). Interested to know if there’s more info to share on that subset of functions that are showing degradation!
