The House passed a bill that aims to increase so-called parental rights in the classroom, part of Republican efforts to elevate the issue. The Senate is not expected to take up the bill. cnn.it/3K6cGmo
@CNNPolitics Good for the Senate. Parents already have the right to meet with teachers, staff, and school boards. Parents already have the right to review rubrics and curricula, whether online or in their child's backpack. Parents already have the right to visit their child's classroom.
@ssudswilowicz @CNNPolitics So, in your estimation, parents should be grateful for the rights they have & not expect an expansion of them? Especially when warranted by the discovery of porn in school libraries or teachers teaching transsexuality behind parents backs, without parental consent?
@greycole05 @CNNPolitics If Congress feels that this is the best use of their time, good for them. As for porn in school libraries or teachers teaching transsexuality? That is a stretch, at best. And parents can and should pay attention to what is happening at school. Will this legislation change that?
