BREAKING: The Senate voted down a deal, 52-43 that would have granted rail workers 7 paid sick days. This was the crux of the rail strike standoff. Railroad workers in the U.S. do not receive a single paid sick day.
@LaurenKGurley I read they get like 28 days off per year (include holidays not weekends). Many companies offer 3 weeks PTO, that does not differentiate between sick and vacation days. I’m not terribly informed on their benefits, but if this is true, the narrative of 0 sick day is disingenuous.
@dmw1618 @LaurenKGurley I did. Just not sure if the information I saw was correct. It’s so different than the narrative I’m seeing here and on news.
@satchelkiefer @LaurenKGurley Holidays are paid, but unless it’s your normal day off you’re not off. It takes 8 yrs to get to 3 weeks vacation. You have one personal holiday and 8 yrs to get a second. Vacation is scheduled now for next year and has to be approved but can be taken away
