Introducing Extend UI — open-source components for document agents - 14 components & examples for PDF, DOCX, and XLSX viewers, plus bounding box citations, file upload, e-signature, and more - fully customizable - MIT licensed when we started, we tried every file viewer and document component library we could find unfortunately, none of them had all the functionality (and polish) that we wanted, so we ended up building our own for @ExtendHQ it was only ever meant to be internal, but enough customers kept asking for it that we decided to give it back to the community it's useful for building agents, user-facing document flows, or internal tools we use and maintain it for Extend ourselves, so it'll keep getting better over time (and it's battle tested on millions of pages running through our system every day) it also works with design system agents like @magicpatterns for faster exploration and prototyping available today on the @shadcn component registry! some examples in 🧵

How to profit from the AI boom without writing a single line of code: 1. Get into a trade: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, pest control..... Nobody has figured out how to automate a clogged drain at 11pm on a Tuesday. 2. Use AI to become the most valuable person in your current job. You'll either get promoted over the ones who didn't, or build enough leverage to own something yourself. Both make you more money. 3. Buy a boring business that was running 20+ years before AI existed instead of building from scratch. If it survived the internet, 2008, and COVID… it’ll still be running when the next model drops. 4. Do the unscalable human things everyone else is automating away: Showing up in person, remembering names, sending the handwritten note…. The bar for standing out has never been lower. 5. Get into the right rooms. Everything in business becomes easier when you're around people who are already doing the thing, not just talking about it. One right relationship will move you faster than learning any a new AI tool or model.

Coaches: Your language in the huddle is either directing performance or undermining it. The most effective coaching cue is a clear, specific, positive directive. Tell athletes exactly what you want them to do. The brain executes on targets. Give it one.

Here's a marketing mistake I see almost every brand make: they try to impress you with big numbers when they should be telling you about one person. "Join 50,000+ happy customers" does almost nothing, but a specific story about one person whose EXACT problem your product solved will outperform it pretty much every single time. There's a psychological reason for this called the Identifiable Victim Effect. The basic idea is that people feel far more for one identifiable individual than they do for a large group or a statistic. It's the same reason a single named child in a charity ad raises more than "2 million children are starving." Our brains aren't wired to feel a number, they're wired to feel a face and a story. So when you're writing your next ad, landing page or email, resist the urge to lead with how big you are. Lead with one person. Name them, describe their exact situation before your product, the specific moment it clicked and where they are now. TLDR: One real/specific story will almost always out-sell a bunch of impressive sounding (but abstract) big numbers.

You probably think you need to do more cardio. Longer workouts. More miles. More suffering. But what if you just made the walk you're already taking a little more challenging? I've been a big fan of weighted vests for years because they're simple. You put one on, go for a walk, and suddenly your body has to do more work without you spending any more time exercising. The data is pretty impressive and one of the biggest mistakes I see people make is thinking health has to be extreme to be effective. Most of the time, the answer is taking something you're already doing and making it a little better. A weighted vest is a great example of that. Just walk.

Embeddings work just as well as token generation. Qwen3 0.6B is a small model (~600MB) so things fit well on a typical small-ish server. But you can still get 1024 dimensions and cosine similarity with minimal lift! Again, all in native PHP :-)

Finally got the first version of ext-infer polished and released. It's still very much a v0.x but this is a fully operational demonstration of native PHP loading and executing pre-trained models. Use it for LLM chats, embeddings, you name it. Local inference, native PHP.

One of the most powerful things I told a client this week was: “You don’t need to work out.” She’s been under a lot of stress and I knew what was actually gonna move the needle for her But when your nervous system is already overloaded, adding more stress usually doesn’t create better results. This is why fitness should never feel like another thing you’re trying to survive.

A WordCamp hallway chat w/@learnwithmattc turned into: "docs aren't just for people anymore. They're for people AND agents." That stuck with me. Good docs now need to answer customers, feed chatbots, help support, show up in AI search, and still be readable by humans. #WCEU
