On the field, he has improved, going from a 120 QB efficiency to 135, which is slightly above average by B10 QB standards, despite the uncertainty and craziness that has surrounded his career.
I am assuming he will not be back next year and that makes me sad, not because he is irreplaceable as a player, but because I looked forward to seeing a great final season that I think he deserves.
Or, if things did continue to be as they are, I looked forward to cheering on a great Badger who never quit and fought to the end.
Either way, he is the story that makes cheering for college athletics so much fun and why I have always believed the "playoffs or bust" crowd is missing the very best part of the games.
If this thread by chance should happen to reach Graham, I would just say that your efforts have not been unnoticed and many of us wish you the very best, wherever you might potentially land.
@THEbadgermaniac To preface, I have always been a supporter of GM until Saturday. You must not have watched the Badger game. A poor to average QB would have made the throws that GM missed and we would have won the game. He could have been injured. If he was that’s the coaches fault 4 not flagging
@badgerjeff14 @THEbadgermaniac The interception was a bad throw/decision. There were a couple throws where the receiver ran a different route than was thrown. There were several very good throws. Not the best GM game, but the loss can’t be put on him.
@jmbonavia @badgerjeff14 Right before play, I noted that MN was playing very soft/dropping 7 and patience was needed. The WR was "sort of" open, but required a near perfect pass. It was sort of a microcosm of GM...wanting so badly to make a play in a tough moment, but letting that override logic.
@THEbadgermaniac @jmbonavia You guys, don’t get me wrong. I have been defending GM all year. That game was on him. We did learn that it wouldn’t have mattered with JL’s job, so that helps a bit
@badgerjeff14 @THEbadgermaniac @jmbonavia Defend him, don’t defend him, blah, blah, blah… in Football, no ONE player ever loses a game, period!!!
@MarkBen23939436 @THEbadgermaniac @jmbonavia A poor to average QB would have made the throws he missed. That game was on him.
