Wondering if folks have advice about getting monetized by @YouTubeCreators. The only public vids on my page are the 4 episodes of my original show, but I was rejected for "limited originality." I do have a bunch of news clips on private. Should I delete them before reapplying?
@atrupar @YouTubeCreators YouTube is very skittish about copyright claims. So if you have copies of broadcast media on your account, they will be nervous (and by nervous, I mean implacable) about being OK with your channel. Delete anything, whether it be broadcast media or music, you don't own now.
@BettyBowers @YouTubeCreators the only 4 public videos on my page are fully original video podcasts with 0 reused content. I do have a number of news clips on private. I figured that wouldn't impact monetization, but perhaps I need to go ahead and delete the private videos. youtube.com/@theaaronrupar…
@atrupar @BettyBowers @YouTubeCreators Don’t be silly. You’re applying for monetization with content one click from incurring process costs to YouTube by triggering DMCA complaints. Your account is indistinguishable from someone planning to monetize the next news event.
