What fascinates me is that Jesus chose Peter to found the Church. Not Paul, the genius. Not John, the wise. But Peter, Peter who had repudiated him. and why Peter? Because Peter represents a man with all his weaknesses “And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
@andst7 It’s the expression of everyone…we are all called to find the light that we carry within and to have to courage to share it with the world ⭐️
@andst7 Jesus doesn’t call the qualified, he qualifies the called! 💜💜💜
@andst7 You have to understand the difficulties of a human to better help them without judging them.
@andst7 The rock to which Jesus referred was Peter's reply to his question, "But who do you say that I am?" - "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." The Christian church is founded on the rock that Jesus is the Messiah, the son of the living God.
@andst7 That is a great reason, and St Peter also loved Our Lord very much. "But before all things have a constant mutual charity among yourselves: for charity covereth a multitude of sins."
@andst7 Christ's church was/is not built on a man but 'on the revelation of who (christ) He is' A rock in Bible terms represents something solid and unmovable but Peter ( due to fear & intimidation) was moved to deny Jesus.
