An EFL Spokesperson said: “Following the abandonment of this afternoon’s Sky Bet Championship fixture between Rotherham United and Cardiff City, the circumstances surrounding this will now be considered in-line with EFL Regulations.”
@EFL_Comms Restart the game at 48 minutes with the score: same line ups: no supporters in the ground. Bit embarrassing a newish ground was unable to cope with 10 minute deluge at this level
@alm_vince @EFL_Comms If they don’t have the required facilities Vince they shouldn’t be allowed to compete at that level!
@chrismj1927 @EFL_Comms This should be a lesson learnt for the EFL to have that amount water still on the surface after 45 minutes questions need to be raised. I know it was a deluge from an electric storm but it only lasted 10 minutes
@alm_vince @EFL_Comms Didn’t they do have the water sprinklers on at half time ??
@chrismj1927 @alm_vince @EFL_Comms The sprinklers WERE on at Half time as they are every game. That was BEFORE the deluge!! Hindsight eh?
