Pretty remarkable that America temporarily constructed a safety net during Covid — including major health care coverage, food benefits, anti poverty funding for families & kids, etc — and then just systematically and slowly demolished it

This was, in my opinion, the biggest reason why the oligarchy, made up of mostly rightwing libertarian billionaires, coronated Biden as president. And Biden delivered with great efficiency.

@_EarnieBanks By "the oligarchy" do you mean Black women? Because it was Black women that voted for Biden, and propelled him to victory in the primary.

@_EarnieBanks When Covid looked like it could significantly curtail commerce for the foreseeable future, the pols took public health seriously. Now they could care less. The health of "the economy" is far more important to them.

@_EarnieBanks Well, yeah; they forbade the DNC to let Sanders get the nomination. These guys call the shots, not us.

@_EarnieBanks @still_NunyaDB It kills me to say it this Under the aaakkkkump (<-can’t say it🤡) administration people got money, food, medical coverage, rent &student loan freeze; then Biden came in and just tossed it all in the trash and said “hey you poors don’t need this the pandemics over!” 1/2

@_EarnieBanks The same reason John Kerry said, when Bernie won a primary, "this cannot stand," or words to that effect. I recall reading a report on him muttering and livid in a bar or somewhere. They knew how to get rid of him; Kerry got a spot heading up climate, doing more lip service.

@_EarnieBanks Billionaires and the oligarchs coronate Republicans, not Democrat's.

@_EarnieBanks Actually, Biden was selected and installed by a small banking and finance cartel with no identifiable political views except for the desire to achieve absolute power. I wouldn't call them lightweight. They are way too powerful.

@SusaHatch Yep, I think Harry Reid also said something similar and then went on to rig the Nevada caucus. This is how oligarchies operate, surely not democracies
