I can’t believe this needs to be said but kids still do get kidnapped/murdered in Japan. There’s also a severe problem with kids being left in abusive home environments until tragedy happens. So please put this “collective responsibility” nonsense away.

You can read about a few of these cases, as well as issues in Japan’s foster care system, here. In general children’s rights advocates here say the system is too deferential to parents, which leads to kids being left in abusive situations. unseenjapan.com/child-abuse-ja…

@UnseenJapanSite @shadowqueen2016 I knew there was something fishy about this..especially with the amount of pedophilia that gets swept under the rug..ain’t no way there’s collective care
In #Japan, While the number of cases of #childabuse for which there is evidence has been halved, the number of foster care placements and special adoptions has increased as a matter of policy. There is magic of math. This means that "efforts to take children from their parents with difficulty" are becoming more and more frustrating.
@UnseenJapanSite Good push back, but, if possible, provide comparable statistics to other countries. Probabilities per capita. Otherwise, it feels like whataboutism or worse yet fear mongering. Of course, there are systemic problems. Be direct, offer direct solutions.
@UnseenJapanSite America doesn't make choices, they make mistakes, ALLOT OF MISTAKES!
@UnseenJapanSite Do you want to compare numbers or even percentages to how bad it is the US?
