"Religious liberty" doesn't mean you get to impose your religion on everyone else. Quite the opposite.
And to drive home that point, the Founders included the Establishment Clause in the First Amendment -- to ensure that no religion could be legally mandated, federally or in any state.
@TristanSnell Yeah, until the Fourteenth Amendment that just wasn’t the case, Tristan. Go back and read some history books. Quite a few states had established churches after the Founding. John Adams, for example, had no problem with state-funded religious schools in Massachusetts.
@TristanSnell Ok..where does it say you can get an abortion in the constitution?
@TristanSnell How exactly is anyone imposing their religion on you?
@TristanSnell Would someone mail the Establishment Clause to Boebert…please?
@TristanSnell And Article VI forbids any religious tests for any public office.
@TristanSnell @ckkoch3 But a tax exemption was "established" for them. Huh.
@TristanSnell AND they put it BEFORE the Free Exercise Clause for that very reason!
