Someone stole my identity and applied for an account at @HSBC. I called and they refused to help me. Absolutely horrified. Do I know anyone that works there that can help me?
@MuellerSheWrote @HSBC Your first call should be to file complaints with your state Attorney General and/or your city — look for the consumer protection department or bureau.
@TristanSnell @MuellerSheWrote @HSBC also file a police report.
@TristanSnell @MuellerSheWrote @HSBC 1. Agreed! Do file a police report, even if they brush you off. Do contact your state AG - they should have a process to file a report. Do start a document listing how you found out what happened, who you called and when and their response get names, when you filed police
@TristanSnell @MuellerSheWrote @HSBC And file a police report.
@TristanSnell @MuellerSheWrote @HSBC Freeze your credit export too.
@TristanSnell @MuellerSheWrote @HSBC Agreed. Also, lock all your credit reports. Set up your ss account as well. Sorry, I know this sucks.
