My girlfriend is a former D1 athlete & I played D3 baseball. Sometimes she asks questions like ”so who did you guys have cater your home games?” and is very shocked when I say ”Sometimes Craig’s mom brought sandwiches.”
@TinderDad My daughter played D3 softball and when the girls played a double header, I always had homemade goodies for them between games. The girls had food in the dugout, but homemade sweets were always better!! I sure miss that!
@TinderDad @DannyVietti I was a walk-on at U of O for 2 years, then played D-3, then 2 years in 🇩🇪. 🇩🇪 was great! A few road trips to save money instead of renting a bus, they’d put us in groups of 3-4 and gave us 20 💶 for ⛽️ and told us when to be there! We actually liked it as we got back way faster!
@TinderDad Had a pitcher who’s dad owned an Arby’s and brought the team roast beef sandwiches once does that count?
@TinderDad D2 - coach would send the managers and redshirts to buy sandwhich meats and fruit before games from the local bilo. Road games meant 7 bucks for lunch or dinner lol
