End stage capitalism is just going to keep getting more and more ridiculous wsj.com/articles/state…

@TheMcKenziest Nothing to see here. One of the biggest property insurers no longer wants to do business in the US’s biggest, richest state.

@TheMcKenziest @CriminalUnionFW Insurance is a bet that the thing they're insuring against never happens, or happens rarely. Wildfires in Cali are like flooding and storm damage along the Gulf coast, guaranteed.

@RedEviction @CriminalUnionFW If it’s not safe for people to live places, that should be a much bigger convo rather than just saving insurance companies money

@TheMcKenziest If I am not mistaken you need to have insurance for the house don't you?

@alicenbunnyland Arizona is too hot for like 7 months but I feel safer here than in cali :/ I wish you didn’t have to worry about like catastrophic events every damn year 💜

@TheMcKenziest it's probably a bad idea to subsidize people living in dangerous areas with the coming climate catastrophes. Why should we encourage people to keep rebuilding in hurricane prone areas that get hit every year or high fire risk areas? with insane construction costs?

@TheMcKenziest We’ve been dealing with this in FL for decades due to hurricanes. Welcome to the club.

@TheMcKenziest Health insurance works the same way…too many claims..prices go up and more claims eventually means that company will leave the state.

@TheMcKenziest In my area I can see insurance companies eliminating roofs from their policies. Nearly every severe storm now has hail. Our roof needed to be replaced 3 times in 12 years because of gorilla hail.
