من لديه حساسية عميقة تجاه الطبيعة، سيجد بأن فكي أي حيوان جميلان بشكل لا يُصدق! سينظر بهدوء إلى الجمال المميز في وجوه كبار السن من الرجال والنساء، وسيستمتع أيما استمتاع بفضول الأطفال وأسئلتهم. وسيلاحظ أشياء كثيرة من هذا القبيل، تلك الأشياء التي تمر مرور الكرام على أغلب الناس الذين أعماهم الجري واللهث وراء الحياة بحثاً عن مجد أو نجاح هش سرعان ما سيسخر منه الزمن ويبتلعه! يصعب على هذه الفئة المنشغلة بتوافه الأحداث اليومية أن يشعروا بجمال الأشياء. ولكن من يستطع أن يعش مندهشاً حساساً تجاه الجمال والطبيعة، سيعش أجمل وأسعد حياة ممكنة.

📣 A new paper from our lab (EdgeLab at UCI) to ensure that untrusted databases process SQL queries correctly on a private database using non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs) You can find the paper here (to appear in @SIGMODConf 2025): arxiv.org/pdf/2411.15031 The paper, led by soon-to-graduate PhD student Binbin Gu, introduces PoneglyphDB, a database system that can prove that SQL processing is both trusted and correct. This would enable use cases ranging from utilizing untrusted service providers to decentralized and offchain database processing infrastructures. The paper highlights a novel design of ZKP circuits optimized for fundamental SQL operations—such as joins, sorting, and group-by—by leveraging recent advances in cryptographic techniques like PLONKish circuits and recursive proof composition. PoneglyphDB demonstrates significant performance improvements over state-of-the-art ZKP-based approaches when benchmarked with the TPC-H workload. #Databases #ZKP #SIGMOD2025 #blockchain

تعلّم الشيء حتى تكتشف بساطته. هذا معيار الفهم الأول. لا تهتم بالتفاصيل فهي مشّوش كبير و حاول استبعادها في البداية. افهم الفكرة البسيطة خلف الشيء المعقد اولاً ثم اضف عليها التفاصيل لاحقاً. اختبر نفسك فإن كنت لا تزال ترى أن به تعقيد فهذا يعني أنك لم تفهمه بعد.
