A good education is the great equalizer. When parents are empowered to pick the best schools, students thrive. x.com/i/broadcasts/1…
@SpeakerMcCarthy Your party is banning books and the teaching of actual history. Is that what you call a good education?
@SpeakerMcCarthy Stop defunding our schools!
@SpeakerMcCarthy My tax dollars should never go to vouchers. You don’t like public schools, pay for your own.
@SpeakerMcCarthy And it's your job to ensure every American child has equal access to the "best" public schools regardless of their zip codes or ethnicity. Public/taxpayer funds MUST NOT be siphoned off to fund schools that less fortunate students do not have access to.
@SpeakerMcCarthy If those empowered parents do not want public schools- they should be empowered to pay for their private education themselves not strip the public school system
@SpeakerMcCarthy Parents can already pick schools for their kids, Kevin. You just want me to pay for it with my taxes and I say . . . hell no!
@SpeakerMcCarthy Picking the best schools is fine. Depriving public schools of tax $$ is reduces US competitiveness and is discrimination.
@SpeakerMcCarthy A good education is not derived from banning books. If, as you people constantly claim, we live in "The Greatest Country on Earth", every school would be the best school, and children could go to the school that is in their neighborhood/community.
@SpeakerMcCarthy How am I empowered? The best school is 30 mins away and costs 18k a year. We get 6k as a voucher. There's no transportation or afterschool services. I don't have 12K to make up the difference in tuition. I can't choose the best school. Explain that to me.
@SpeakerMcCarthy So you want to help public schools become the best schools? Bc if you think the teacher shortage is bad now just wait until you cut more public school funding for charter schools.
