Crowd of at least 100 making its way to Tiananmen Square in Beijing on Sunday night, chanting, “We want universal values,” “We want freedom, equality, democracy, rule of law,” “We don’t want dictatorship,” “We don’t want personality cult.”
They were stopped by police a few blocks away from their departure point, at Liangma River, but simply the fact that they intended to protest at Tiananmen is wild.
@SiminaMistreanu It's time for the US to bring democracy in China too
@SiminaMistreanu I am personally very moved to see that some foreign friends can pay attention to our experience. If the European Union countries can help us Chinese people get rid of decades of oppression and dictatorship, we will be very grateful.
@SiminaMistreanu 2018: Trump praises Xi Jinping extending tenure 'for life' "He's now president for life, president for life. And he's great,"...he was able to do that. I think it's great. Maybe we'll have to give that a shot someday" - Trump cnb.cx/2oGi2ue
@SiminaMistreanu @TomFitton Looks like more than 100
@SiminaMistreanu I agree. But it would have been good to accord the same benevolence to protesters against lockdowns in our own country. Yes, of course, our lockdowns were less severe. We aren’t ruled by a Communist Party, thankfully.
@SiminaMistreanu @TomFitton A crowd of 100 ain’t going to change a thing.
@SiminaMistreanu MSM used to champion these stories. Barely a whisper. LONG arm of communism controlling the narrative in the US.
@SiminaMistreanu That didn't work out well for the last group to wander into that death trap. Very brave, though.
