I’ve had a very difficult time just reading about the couple who aborted their Down’s syndrome child. It’s maybe the worst thing I’ve ever seen on social media - and that’s really saying something. It has made me feel physically sick for days now. I prayed for that baby’s soul last night… that child deserved so much and had a beautiful future ahead. They deserved birth, joy, family, love, - everything the child would have given to the world if they had not been brutally murdered. My mother was a special needs teacher before meeting my father and one thing she always showed me was how much people with special needs contribute to the world and brighten life. Anyone who has ever met anyone with Down’s syndrome knows how wonderful they are - a true gift in this world. Please join me in continuing to pray for that baby with me tonight. As for the parents… May God have mercy on their dark, wretched, demonic souls. I can only think of that Shakespeare quote - “Hell is empty, and all the devils are here.”

Just learned that the couple who aborted their baby for having Downs was a) documenting the story for weeks for clicks and b) has a disabled dog they've spent tons of $$ keeping alive. Anyone who pretends this is some morally gray issue rather that straight-up evil is either stupid or lying.

For all the parents out there dealing with a decision... let me give you another perspective In 2018 my wife and I went in for our 20? week ultra sound at Beth Israel in Boston... the rep was very quiet the whole time, something seemed off. My wife & I were first time parents... didn't have much context. The doctor pulled us into her office and told us our sons nuchal fold was abnormally large... she went on to say there is a significant increased chance of Down Syndrome and even Turner's syndrome... talked about options to terminate the pregnancy. My wife was inconsolable, rightly so ... even thinking about it now brings back a lot of heavy emotions because of how hard of a day it was... hard... I did a lot of research on the topic ... my wife & I prayed non stop about it. All we could do. The doctors wanted to do an amniocentesis which has its own host of risks..run more tests... We came to the conclusion, which was not easy... it didn't matter... no amnio, no more tests.... I felt in my soul the Lord's plan was perfect and if our son was going to have Down Syndrome we would love him and shepherd him through this world the best we could. We get what we get. Anything from the Lord was a BLESSING and I was not going to point my finger at Him Fast forward to today... our son is going to be 8 in the fall. He is perfect. Just hit a homerun the other day... a much better baseball player than I was at his age. My best friend I share this deeply personal story for nothing more than to give just ONE parent hope... the Lord's plan is perfect... stay the course

The populist leader is literally telling the populist followers precisely how to vote. Populism is elitist. It's the ultimate misunderstanding almost everyone has about the populist phenomenon. It is not a democratic impulse, it is not an instance of popular sovereignty, it is not any of the healthy things represented by the concept of "we the people." It is a symptom of political dysfunction, a warning sign of political decay, and a phenomenon that needs to be addressed...not fed, enabled, or justified. It is a response to feelings of powerlessness and the seeking out of an avatar to cling to who will bring back a sense of control. It is NOT a healthy phenomenon in a free society and will bring about corruption and destruction if allowed to perpetuate toward the inevitable demagoguery and tyranny that result from unchecked populism. Populism is what led to the French Revolution...and it's what we avoided with the healthy pluralism of the American Revolution.
