I genuinely miss when Twitter felt like the internet’s real-time pulse instead of a giant engagement farm. Back then you’d open the app and instantly find breaking news, underground communities, insane humor, random threads, and people actually speaking their minds without trying to satisfy an algorithm. Crypto Twitter especially was different. People found projects early, built real communities, hosted legendary Spaces, and created entire narratives out of nowhere. It felt organic. It felt alive. Now the timeline feels manufactured. Every post is optimized for impressions. Every reply is bait. Every opinion feels forced, sponsored, or designed to farm outrage. The app used to reward creativity and consistency. Now it rewards whoever can manipulate attention the hardest. A lot of the best creators either left, got buried, or stopped caring because the atmosphere changed so much. Old Twitter felt chaotic in the best way possible. This version feels like watching people perform for an algorithm.

X’s biggest issues right now: • Algorithm rewards outrage over quality • Power users getting punished instead of supported • Timeline feels over-engineered and unnatural • Monetization feels inconsistent and unclear • Bots, engagement farming, and misinformation everywhere • Spaces neglected despite being X’s biggest edge • Developers trying to dictate content strategy • Reach suppression/shadowban perception destroying trust • No real onboarding of new users despite nonstop changes X stopped improving what made Twitter great and started chasing every other social app instead

Capitulation was one of the best things to ever happen to Crypto Twitter. For a period of time it felt like the entire industry was inside those spaces. Real debates, real communities, real entertainment, real narratives forming live in front of everyone. It became the center of CT. And because of that it also became the most targeted thing I’ve ever seen on this platform. Coordinated cancellations, mass reports, nonstop attacks from people who hated seeing attention concentrated somewhere they couldn’t control. Instead of protecting one of the biggest cultural drivers on the app, Twitter allowed it to get torn apart. Now there are barely any large organic spaces left and anytime someone starts building one again, the same cycle repeats itself. Crypto Twitter lost a huge piece of what made it fun.

Toly out there grinding on the tl has made me very bullish on Solana as it's now becoming a contrarian call. Conensus being that Hyperliquid will eat its lunch. Which may be true for perps (for now anyhow) but Solana has such a massive TAM with consumer crypto and no competition.
